Design schoolyard Vöcklabruck
As part of the course „Objektplanerisches Projekt“,
Institute of Landscape Architecture, University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna
it was task to develop a design for the schoolyard of the private catholically high school of the Franciscan.

The school administration wants for the open space an atmosphere that allows outdoor classes and provides recreational opportunities, sporting facilities and possibility of retreat in the breaks. The schoolyard is to contribute education and after classes also be available as event site.
Idea
The basic idea for the design based on an unrestricted movement space and Platforms in the "limbo". The schoolyard is designed as a park landscape with landing classrooms. The tree houses provide space for outdoor teaching. In particular, a connection between kindergarten and school yard is achieved by the "landing" of the last platform.
Concept
The overarching sand surface creates a connection between the main school and kindergarten. The sand of the volleyball court is the same case protection for the bouldering wall.
The elevated outdoor classroom to offer in the breaks recreational space or function as a stand. The rods wood as open area can accommodate slacklines and hammocks.
